    Launching of the Invest Meghalaya Portal

    Shillong, November 4, 2019: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma formally launched the Invest Meghalaya Portal (https://investmeghalaya.gov.in) on the 4th November 2019 at the Conference Room, Main Secretariat Building, Shillong. The objective of the Invest Meghalaya Portal is to create an Online Platform for providing best Services towards the Prospective and Existing Business Community in the state. It is a One Stop Clearance System for the Investor to obtain various Regulatory Clearances / No Objection Certificates; etc from different State Government Departments and it also ensures facilitation to the investors, right from conceptualization of the project till commencement of operations.

    Shri.Timothy Dkhar, Deputy Director General and SIO, NIC Meghalaya, delivered a technical presentation about the Invest Meghalaya portal and emphasized actions to be imitated for the way forward for the fulfillment of the guidelines and recommendations of Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP) 2019 of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Government of India.

    Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma while delivering the inaugural address highly appreciated the efforts of NIC in developing this web-application in short time and urged all the Departments to get all their Services related to investors enabled on this portal so as to achieve better ranking for the State in the Ease of Doing Business.

    Amongst the Officers present at the launching program were the Additional Chief Secretaries to the Government of Meghalaya Shri. Hector Marwein, IAS and Shri M.S. Rao, IAS; Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Shri. Shakil P. Ahammed, IAS; Commissioner Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Commerce & Industries Department, Shri. M. R. Synrem IAS and Commissioner Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Planning Department, Shri. Vijay Kumar D, IAS and Officers from various State Government Departments and NIC Meghalaya.
