Land Records Computersation
- The administration and management of land records and revenue are the activities that have remained the sole responsibility of the Government all through ages. In fact the land revenue has, till the middle of the last century, formed the bulk of Government income since ancient times. Even today, though the land revenue is not a source of income, the revenue records remain very important.
- The pilot project for the computerization of Land Records has started in the District of East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya. The Management Consultant, M/s PricewaterhouseCoopers in involved in the preparation of a service blue print for the Revenue Department and Registration Department for the District of East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya.
- The key processes and activities studied at the Revenue Branch, D.C Office Shillong as well as that of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council are as follows.
